We protect your personal information. We do not share your personal information with third parties except as necessary to fulfill your order. We do not "spam" by sending unsolicited emails after an order is complete. Our full privacy statement can be read below:
Collecting information about you
When you visit our website, we collect your IP address and standard web log information, such as your browser type and the pages you accessed on our website. If you open a user account on our website, we collect contact information from you: your name, address, phone, email and other other similar information.
When you are using our website, we collect information about pages you visit, items you place in your shopping cart and other similar information related to the steps you take when you browse, search and shop on our website. Finally, we may collect additional information from or about you in other ways not specifically described here. For example, we may collect information related to your contact with us by phone.
Protecting and storing personal information
"Personal information" is information that can identify you.
We are hosted by a company called www.chrislands.com which stores and processes your personal information on its servers in the US and then allows us to retrieve in a secure manner. Chrislands protects your personal information by maintaining physical, electronic and procedural safeguards in compliance with applicable U.S. federal and state regulations.
At Turn-The-Page Books, we use computer safeguards such as firewalls and data encryption. We shred paper copies of customer's personal information printed out in the course of processing an order once the order is filled. We authorize access to personal information only for bookstore staff who require it to fulfill their job responsibilities.
Using the personal information we collect
Our main purpose in collecting personal information is to provide you with a safe, smooth, customized shopping experience. We may use your personal information to:
- provide services and customer support you request
- process your purchase transactions
- resolve disputes and troubleshoot problems
- Send you communications about your specific purchase after your purchase is complete, for example: notices of shipping information and followup inquiring as to whether you received your purchase and are satisfied with it.
Necessary sharing of your personal information to complete and ship your order
To process your payments, we need to share some of your personal information.
- We need to share your credit card information with the merchant bank that processes payments for us.
- We also need to share your shipping address with the online USPS Shipping Assistant program we use since it provides us with USPS tracking information connected to your address. If you choose another shipping method, we will need to share your shipping address and possibly your telephone number and email address with that company (USPS for Express mail services, UPS, FedEx).
Sharing your personal information with others not mentioned above
With one exception, we do not share your personal information with anyone else unless you tell us to do so. We never rent or sell customers' personal information. We don't like it when other businesses do this, and we will never treat our customers in ways we dislike being treated ourselves.
The one exception: Law enforcement, government officials, or other third parties when we are under subpoena, court order, or other similar legal requirement, or when we need to do so to comply with a State or Federal law. In our many years of selling online, we have never had to do this. We state this in writing, should the need ever arise.
Restricting Turn-The-Page Books from sharing your personal information
As outlined above, we need to share your personal information with our merchant card processor, and your personal information is shared on our host's servers in an up-to-date, encrypted and secure manner. We need to share your shipping address with our shipping partners (USPS, UPS, FedEx) in order to send you your purchase.
But, we do NOT share with anyone else.
We also do NOT send you any promotional emails without your prior consent.
We do comply with Federal and State laws as described above, as all businesses are required to do.
Accessing and/or changing your personal information
You can access and change your personal information at any time by logging in to your account and clicking the "Your Account" link at the top of our homepage, and then the "Account Information" and "Shipping Information" links that appear on the page that opens.
